My Favorite Vintage Valentine’s Finds and How I Style Them

Valentine’s Day is such a SWEET holiday to decorate for! Whether you love to go over the top or just add a few lovely touches here are a few ideas to help you this season.

Ephemera

Ephemera refers to any bits and bobs of papers that were only meant to be around for a short period of time. Think letters, advertisements, post cards and scraps of books or newspapers.

For Valentine’s Day, consider adding a vintage postcard or a hand written love letter on a shelf, in a hutch or even on a side table! You can easily prop ephemera up among your decor or tuck it into cups, baskets or pop it into a thrifted vintage frame.

Cherubs

What’s sweeter than a cherub or Cupid? The ultimate symbol of valentines second to only the heart! You can find cherubs on small porcelain figures and ceramics like plates, bowls and vases, or candle holders and artwork. Just remember he will totally pierce your heart!

Handmade Fabric Fun

Consider making or supporting a shop who creates handmade touches out of vintage and antique fabrics! These hearts were made out of a nearly antique quilt and repurposed into bowl filler. Other handmade creations for Valentine’s Day include pillows and garlands for tables and mantles.

Bundles of Holiday JOY

Lastly, don’t be afraid to think outside of the box. What pinks reds and whites do you already have? I love finding vintage planters and always have a few on hand. They are ugreat for plants but have other uses too! You can stack a red book, a piece of ephemera, grab doily and some trinkets like a sweet little stuffed heart to create a small bundle of holiday decor with big impact! No need to go over the top!

I’m constantly updating my seasonal decor the shop. Head to the handmade and the Vintage Antique Decor tabs to see if there’s anything that makes your heart flutter!
