Handcrafted wooden burl wood box with intricate inlay lid

Wooden boxes are my favorite way to add some handmade and history to a bookshelf, desk or console table. They are perfect for storing jewelry and special mementos.

This box is an incredible piece of handiwork. The top is constructed of different species of wood in an intricate marquetry pattern. The burls or swirls you see are from a unique pattern that forms often in rounded parts of a tree trunk that is filled with dormant buds.
