This pot with lid would have held a toothpaste made out of ground Areco nut, a seed of the Areco Palm native to the Philippines. This mild abrasive was used in “beautifying and preserving the teeth and gums.”
This lidded pot has been dug up from an English Victorian trash heap. It was preserved in the ground for over 100 years and is a beautiful relic of a bygone time and place.
It can be used to hold trinkets on a dresser or displayed in cabinet.
Measures 2 5/8” wide x 1.5” tall
Decorating your home with vintage means you are choosing to decorate with history and charm. It’s also the most sustainable way to decorate. You are keeping old items out of the landfill and saving resources and human labor used in the manufacturing of new home decor.
Each item in my boutique is hand picked by me. I take pride in building collections that are rich with color, history and charm. With Finches and Ferns, you can choose decor both intentionally and sustainably and build a home with decor that is as unique as you are!
