Small antique advertising stoneware pot from Taylor’s Mustard.
Before 1830, mustard came in a powder and had to be prepared. William Talyor was the first to make a ready made English mustard. Before 1940, all Taylor's mustard came in stoneware pots with printed graphics directly on the piece. This piece dates to the early 19th century and is becoming increasingly hard to find as time goes on.
This is a true piece of English history and not a reproduction. This item has been dug up from an English Trash Heap (sometimes referred to as a midden) where treasure hunters search for Victorian waste. This piece is in fair condition (there may be chips and some staining or crazing) considering it’s been in the ground for over 100 years.
Measures: 4” tall x 2 7/8” wide
